Who makes LagodiComo.it

LagodiComo.it is conceived, written and built by Gabriele Masetti. It brings together in one site what you need to know the lake and to get around it: the villages and their sights, the villas and gardens, the boats and trains, the paths, the year's events and a map drawn for Lario.

The pages describe places and their history, with information for visiting: how to get there, indicative visit times and references for opening hours.

How the guide is made

The review compares information with official and reliable sources: operators' and public bodies' websites, transport timetables, archives and historical publications. Pages carry an update date and the available references for checks on practical information.

  • Opening hours come from the sites of the operators and official bodies; prices and availability are on those sites.
  • For boats and trains, summaries and connections are drawn from imported timetables; the full timetable and service notices are on the operator's website.
  • Events that recur every year carry an indicative date until the organiser announces the date of that edition.

How to read hours and dates

One of these labels can appear beside opening hours and event dates.

Verified
Checked against the official source on the date shown.
Structural fact
Stable information, not subject to timetables or tariffs.
Indicative dates
The event recurs every year in this period, but the dates are not confirmed. Check with the organiser.
Check at source
Hours marked indicative or to be checked should be confirmed with the operator.

The sources

The operators and bodies the hours, forecasts and data come from, which publish the current conditions on their own sites.

The imagery

1433 freely licensed photographs, each credited to the person who took it.

The photographs come from Wikimedia Commons and, for a few places, from Flickr. They are in the public domain or under CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA, and each one names its author and licence.

Where no suitable photograph exists, the page shows a drawn landscape plate, marked as an illustration in its alternative text.
