Why go
Villa Mainona, built between 1670 and 1672 on the main road at Tremezzo, houses the museum the Comune di Tremezzina devotes to the landscape of the Lario.
It holds historic prints and photographs of the lake's villages and villas. On two touch-screen tables, old georeferenced maps and images are set against the land as it is today, and short clips of films shot on the lake are shown with the places where their sets stood.
