Lecco
The autumn festival Lecco devotes to Manzoni, around Villa Manzoni: readings, tours, talks and the Camminata Manzoniana walk.
Dates confirmed by the organiser. Later editions follow the annual recurrence until they are announced.
Every autumn the Comune di Lecco devotes a festival to Alessandro Manzoni and The Betrothed, the novel set in the places of the town.
It is held around Villa Manzoni and elsewhere in Lecco, with readings, tours, talks and the Camminata Manzoniana, the non-competitive walk through the novel's places.
From 2 October to 7 November 2026 the eighteenth edition runs under the title “Guerra, Giustizia, Libertà: le parole di Manzoni” — war, justice and freedom in Manzoni's words. It is centred on Villa Manzoni, reopened in April, with events elsewhere in town: outdoor readings and a guided tour at Pescarenico on Saturday 3 October, visits to the places of the novel, talks and concerts. On Sunday 11 October there is the 53rd Camminata Manzoniana; on Saturday 7 November the festival closes with its lifetime achievement award.
