In autumn, the chestnut and beech woods above the lake turn colour. Olives are harvested in Tremezzina and Perledo between late October and November.
The gardens of Villa Melzi close at the beginning of November; Villa Carlotta, Villa del Balbianello and Villa Monastero stay open in November too, with shorter hours.
