Il Lombardia is one of road cycling's Monuments, known as the Race of the Falling Leaves.

The Ghisallo is one of the climbs associated with its history; the start, finish and route vary between editions.

The programme for the 2026 edition

The 120th edition is raced on Saturday 10 October 2026 from Bergamo to Como: 239 kilometres and nine climbs. From Lecco the race runs up the lake to Bellagio, takes the Ghisallo, drops to Maglio and ends with a 22-kilometre circuit around Como: San Fermo della Battaglia, Civiglio and San Fermo again, with the finish in town. On race day the roads of the Lariano Triangle close to traffic. Racing starts at kilometre zero at 11:00 and, depending on the riders' average speed, passes Malgrate between 14:33 and 14:58, Bellagio between 14:57 and 15:24, and the Madonna del Ghisallo between 15:16 and 15:46; the first pass along Como's Lungolario Trento is between 16:03 and 16:39, the finish between 16:40 and 17:20. On Friday 9 October the teams are presented in Bergamo.
