Cernobbio is the compromise between city and lake: Como is ten minutes away by bus, but you sleep in a village with a square open to the water, from which you can even walk back to Como along the shore.

It is also home to the first basin's grand hotel-villas, such as Villa d'Este.

Cernobbio

Cernobbio is a lakeside village with a square open to the lake. It is known for Villa d'Este, the sixteenth-century villa turned hotel that hosts the Ambrosetti Forum every September; Monte Bisbino rises behind the village.
