In autumn, the chestnut and beech woods above the lake turn colour. Olives are harvested in Tremezzina and Perledo between late October and November.

In winter, Como and Lecco offer museums, churches and theatre performances. On clear days, the view from Brunate reaches Monte Rosa.

In spring, camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons flower in the lake's gardens, at different times depending on the species and the year's weather. Villa Carlotta, in Tremezzina, holds collections of these plants.

June – August
In summer, visitors swim in the bathing areas and travel by boat between the lakeside villages. On the upper lake, between Domaso, Gera Lario and Colico, the Breva blows from the south on fine afternoons, and people sail, windsurf and kitesurf.
