Why go

Parco Teresio Olivelli is the public garden on the lakeshore at Tremezzo, created from the Meier family's estate.

Pietro Lingeri designed its layout in the 1920s. A bridge over the Via Regina leads to a double staircase descending towards the water, with decorated parapets, a fountain and a semicircular landing. The garden contains the tarocchiera, an eighteenth-century octagonal pavilion furnished by Lingeri. Cristoforo De Amicis decorated it in 1926 with painted landscapes between the windows and diamond patterns in perspective on the dome. The park is named after the Resistance fighter Teresio Olivelli.

  • Pietro Lingeri's staircase and fountain, by an architect of Como's rationalist movement, in a public park on the lake.
  • A pause on Tremezzo's shore, about a kilometre from Villa Carlotta.
