Tremezzina
The eighteenth-century Serbelloni villa on the shore at Tremezzo, where Giuseppe Parini was a tutor from 1754, with an Italian garden behind a wrought-iron gate.
Villa Sola Cabiati is a historic private residence on the shore at Tremezzo, fronted by an Italian garden.
Bought by Duke Gabrio Serbelloni, it hosted Giuseppe Parini from 1754 as tutor to his children. Between 1786 and 1790 Gian Galeazzo Serbelloni remodelled the complex; in 1813 the lake landing stage was added, designed by Francesco Bernardino Ferrari. Through marriage, ownership passed to the Busca family and in 1871 to the Sola Cabiati. It belongs to the Serbelloni descendants. From the Regina road you can see the garden, the façade with its clock and the wrought-iron gate, with mythological figures on the pillars and large carved stone vases.
