Villa Flori stands on the shore at Tavernola, between Como and Cernobbio, and has been a hotel since 1960.
It is a neoclassical villa of the nineteenth century. The Marquis Giorgio Raimondi intended it as a wedding present for his daughter Giuseppina, who married Giuseppe Garibaldi on 24 January 1860; the marriage was later annulled. In 1865 it was bought by Alessandro Flori, after whom it is named. In 1960 it was turned into a hotel, and it was renovated again in 1992. Two great cedars of Lebanon hide it from the road. Inside, the stucco, floral frescoes, wooden floors and panelling date from the time it was built; from the tall windows of the hall the lake can be seen from the point of Torno to Brunate.
