Como
The wooded hill west of Como, a regional park since 1993: thirteen trails of the park authority among Castel Baradello, the remains of proto-historic Como at Pianvalle, the Sant'Eutichio cross and the trenches of the Great War.
Spina Verde Regional Park extends across the hills north-west of Como.
Established in 1993, it has thirteen official trails linking woodland, places of worship and historic sites.
The routes pass the remains of protohistoric Como, medieval Castel Baradello and First World War trenches at Sasso di Cavallasca. Places of worship include the basilica of San Carpoforo, San Rocco at Cavallasca and the Sant'Eutichio cross. Trail 4 crosses Monte Caprino; number 2 is the Confinale. Guided visits cover the castle, the Pianvalle archaeological site and the Northern Frontier fortifications.
