Moltrasio's patronal feast
The feast of the patron saint San Martino in Moltrasio in November.
Cernobbio
Villa Pizzo is a historic residence on the point between Cernobbio and Moltrasio, with terraced gardens and two boathouses on the lake.
Giovanni Muggiasca bought the land in 1435; the house's construction date is uncertain, but a will mentions it in 1569. During the plague, people sheltering here helped build the terraces. In the nineteenth century, the estate passed to Viceroy Rainer of Austria, who entrusted the park to Ettore Villoresi, and then to Elise Musard, responsible for the façade's pink tones. The Volpi Bassani family bought it in 1871. The park includes Italian and English gardens, an avenue of cypresses, fountains and a monument to Alessandro Volta. Visits to the villa and garden are guided; the buildings can be seen in their entirety from the lake.
