A small seventeenth-century church with its little hermits' convent in the gorge of the Val Ravella above Canzo, where by tradition Saint Miro lived: reached on foot from the Fonti di Gajum.
The hermitage of San Miro al Monte is a seventeenth-century church in the Val Ravella above Canzo.
Built between 1643 and 1660, it stands where tradition places the hermit Miro's retreat before he moved to Sorico. His cult is linked to water and the nearby spring. A small convent beside the church was inhabited until the end of the eighteenth century. Across the stream, dry-stone walls survive from the friars' vegetable gardens. Restoration of the church ended in 2005. A cobbled track climbs here from Gajum.
