Why go

The Piana di San Tomaso is a grassy terrace 580 metres above sea level, above Valmadrera.

Views take in the Lecco mountains, Lakes Garlate, Annone and Pusiano, and the Brianza.

The church of 1838 holds an altarpiece of the Virgin between Saints Thomas and John of God. Beside it stands the Museum of Agriculture, inaugurated in 2000, with tools, machines and reconstructed rooms from rural homes. The Comunità Montana bought the area in 1978. Nearby are casotte, dry-stone buildings used to store hay and tools.

  • A meadow looking out over the lakes and the mountains around Lecco, reached on foot from Valmadrera.
  • The little church of 1838 and the farming museum, on the meadow.

  • The view from the Grignetta to the Resegone
  • Lakes Garlate, Annone and Pusiano to the south
