At Christmas Menaggio sets up an ice rink on Piazza Garibaldi, the heart of the town, and builds a calendar of events around it from late November to Epiphany: markets on the lakefront, the Loveno nativity scenes and concerts in the church of Santo Stefano.
The programme for the 2025 edition
From 22 November 2025 to 6 January 2026 the rink on Piazza Garibaldi is open for the sixth edition of Menaggio on Ice; it is run by the Menaggio Red Cross with the Comune. The Christmas markets are on the lakefront on 7 and 21 December, from 10:00 to 18:00. From 8 December the nativity scenes in the hamlet of Loveno can be visited, as can Susy's crib in the church of Santa Marta. The parish church of Santo Stefano holds the Christmas concerts, among them that of the Corpo Musicale di Loveno, a band founded in 1843, on 26 December at 17:00, free of charge. On 4 January Piazza Garibaldi waits for the Befana.
