Christmas in the heart of Gravedona ed Uniti
The nativity trail through the whole village, the lakefront lit up and the “1000 luci sul lago” on Christmas Eve, from early December to Epiphany.
Gravedona ed Uniti
Stazzona's church, on the mountain above Gravedona, with its great portico, the Fiammenghino's Rosary chapel and the organ given in 1771 by villagers who had emigrated to Palermo.
San Giuliano is Stazzona's parish church, above Gravedona, with a broad portico and a churchyard facing the lake.
Recorded as early as 1337, it was renewed in the seventeenth century and became a parish church in 1886. Inside are a single nave, side chapels and three transverse arches. In the Rosary chapel, the Fiammenghino painted the fifteen mysteries and scenes from the Virgin's life among gilded stucco. Giovan Paolo Recchi frescoed the chancel vault in 1672. On its side walls, Giulio Quaglio painted the Massacre of the Innocents and the Last Supper in 1726. The organ of 1771 was commissioned by villagers who had emigrated to Palermo; the high altar is in coloured marble.
