Christmas in the heart of Gravedona ed Uniti
The nativity trail through the whole village, the lakefront lit up and the “1000 luci sul lago” on Christmas Eve, from early December to Epiphany.
Gravedona ed Uniti
The Augustinian convent church above Gravedona, built from 1467 and frescoed throughout between the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries, and its cloister with olive trees.
Santa Maria delle Grazie is the church of the Augustinian convent above Gravedona, near the old castle site.
The complex was begun in 1467 in place of an oratory; the church was consecrated in 1532. Its Musso marble portals have Renaissance decoration, and a terracotta cornice runs around the exterior. Transverse arches divide the interior, which ends in three apses. The walls retain unsigned fresco cycles painted between 1496 and 1520. Tomb slabs in the floor commemorate the families that commissioned the chapels.
