Why go

Villa Sucota, on the road from Como to Cernobbio, is the home of the Fondazione Antonio Ratti.

Other buildings were added to its Neoclassical core in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Here the priest and physicist Pietro Configliacchi, who worked with Alessandro Volta, cultivated rare and exotic plants. The Foundation holds over 3,300 textile fragments from the third to the twentieth century, around 3,000 sample books and a library on textiles, fashion and the arts. The collection and library can be visited by appointment; groups of at least ten can request a guided tour. The Chilometro della Conoscenza links Villa Olmo, the Grumello park and Villa Sucota on foot.

  • The home of Antonio Ratti's textile collection, for anyone following the story of Como silk.
  • The last stop on the Chilometro della Conoscenza, after Villa Olmo and the Grumello.
