Como
Two hundred years since Volta's death: talks, visits and exhibitions, in Como and beyond.
Dates confirmed by the organiser.
Alessandro Volta died in Como on 5 March 1827. For the bicentenary the Fondazione Alessandro Volta, with Milan's Museum of Science and Technology and the University of Pavia, puts on two hundred events.
There are lectures and popular-science talks, often at the Tempio Voltiano and Villa del Grumello, guided visits to the Tempio and to Volta's house, exhibitions and the Festival of Light. The full calendar, month by month, is on the Fondazione's site.
The bicentenary calendar runs from March 2026 to May 2027.
