The programme for the 2025 edition
On Wednesday 24 December 2025 at 16:30 Father Christmas arrives in Piazza San Giorgio, hands out presents to the children and there is an afternoon snack. Families bring the presents beforehand, one per child, to the Pro Varenna infopoint on set days. From 2022 to 2024 Father Christmas arrived by boat at the Riva Grande and walked up to the square in procession; in 2024, on the three days before, children could take a fifteen-minute boat ride with him.
