The Teatro Sociale di Como on Piazza Verdi presents plays, dance and concerts. The music ranges from the classical repertoire to jazz and singer-songwriter performances.

Performers and companies vary from season to season.

The 2026 programme

The 2026/27 season, from October 2026 to May 2027, is called VOLT. It is devoted to science, two hundred years after Alessandro Volta died in Como on 5 March 1827. Among its dates: on 13 October 2026 the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano plays Tchaikovsky, Khachaturian and Shostakovich; on 18 November Vinicio Capossela; on 27 November the Compagnie Hervé Koubi in Les Nuits Barbares; on 9 and 10 December Silvio Orlando in Pirandello's Il berretto a sonagli; on 9 January 2027 Spellbound Contemporary Ballet; on 2 March Parsons Dance; on 5 March, the anniversary itself, Lumen, a multimedia opera built on Volta's own writings; on 9 and 10 March A casa tutti bene, Gabriele Muccino's first work as a stage director. Evenings start at 20:30.
