Christmas in the heart of Gravedona ed Uniti
The nativity trail through the whole village, the lakefront lit up and the “1000 luci sul lago” on Christmas Eve, from early December to Epiphany.
Gravedona ed Uniti
The parish church of Consiglio di Rumo, just above Gravedona, recorded since 1242, with fifteenth-century frescoes and the Serassi organ of 1760-61.
San Gregorio Magno is the parish church of Consiglio di Rumo, a hamlet in the comune of Gravedona ed Uniti.
The church already appears in a parchment of 1242; the present building and bell tower most probably date from 1524. The oldest paintings are fifteenth-century, and the painters include Stefano da Vergosio. On the right wall is a Madonna and Child among Saints Charles Borromeo, Bernard, Anthony Abbot and Margaret, painted later: Charles Borromeo was made a saint in 1610. They recall the frescoes of San Giovanni Battista at Brenzio, higher up the same mountain. The chancel was remade in the seventeenth century by Carlo Pozzo of Valsolda. The organ, of 1760-61, is by Andrea Luigi Serassi, with a richly carved wooden choir loft.
