Why go

Gera Lario's votive lighthouse is a stone column topped by a small statue of the Virgin at the entrance to the marina.

Built in 1957, it commemorates the flood of 1951, which killed seventeen people and devastated the village. It is a navigation landmark visible from the lake and surrounding mountains. Beside it stands the Flood Chapel, built in the same year. A walk through the village quarters starts at the harbour square and reaches San Vincenzo and Our Lady of Fatima. The lakefront also has a bronze monument to Pier Angelo Conti Manzini, dedicated to the achievements of all rowers. Born in Dongo, he won bronze in the coxless four at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City.

  • Gera's emblem on the lake, in memory of the flood of 1951.
  • The starting point of the walk through the village lanes.
