Why go
The Piani d'Erna cable car links Versasio, above Lecco, with the upland beneath the Resegone, between 1,200 and 1,300 metres.
The lower station has a car park and is served by city buses. At the top are meadows, viewpoints over the city and lake, and access to the nature trail; other routes connect the upland to the Resegone paths. The Gamma 1 via ferrata climbs the face above Versasio to the Pizzo d'Erna: its start is reached from the lower car park, following path 1 and then the signposted branch. From the top of the ferrata, a path leads to the upper station for the cable car descent.
