San Giacomo Vecchia is the fifteenth- and sixteenth-century church beside Livo cemetery, on the road to Dangri, with twenty-three painted Madonnas and Child inside.
In front of the gabled façade, the porch from the second half of the sixteenth century has frescoes of Stories of Genesis. Transverse pointed arches, painted in black and white bands, divide the nave. Devotional frescoes were commissioned by people of Livo, whose names remain partly legible. In 1512 Sebastiano da Piuro painted the chancel vault, apse and figures in the nave. Later work includes frescoes by Giovanni Andrea de Magistris (1520–1530) and Andrea de Passeri. The paintings show Gaudenzio Ferrari and Fermo Stella's influence on local painters.
