How it works

Windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing are practised on the upper lake around Domaso, Gera Lario and Colico.

The Breva blows from the south and is regular in anticyclonic conditions; in this part of the lake it can strengthen and produce waves. Wind varies with the weather and can change quickly during thunderstorms.

  1. The Tivano is an early-morning breeze from the north or north-east; the Breva blows from the south during the day. Strength and duration vary from day to day.
  2. Before setting out, check the weather forecast and thunderstorm risk. Regular breezes do not guarantee constant conditions throughout an outing.
  3. For an activity on land, there are the upper lake's cycle and walking paths and the routes in the Pian di Spagna reserve.
  4. Check navigation notices and the rules for entering the water at your chosen location.
