Brienno
San Vittore, also called Sant'Anna, is a lakeside church south of Brienno's centre.
The building was rebuilt in the sixteenth century and altered in the seventeenth; its Romanesque bell tower dates from the eleventh century. The tower retains blocked twin windows and a conical spire. Inside is a single nave with side chapels and a stone-slab floor. A large sixteenth-century fresco of the Massacre of the Innocents occupies the left wall; other paintings include Saint Victor as a soldier saint. The chapel of Saint Anne occupies the former apse, before the altar's orientation was changed.
