Laglio
The parish church of San Giorgio, in the centre of Laglio, was built in the seventeenth century on the foundations of an older one.
A church of San Giorgio is recorded as early as the twelfth century; in the sixteenth century it faced the opposite way from today's. The present church was probably begun in 1619 and consecrated in 1630. It is decorated with eighteenth-century stucco and friezes by Stefano Salterio, born in Laglio, and holds paintings and sculpture of the same century. On the yellow front, above the stone doorway, a statue in a niche shows Saint George slaying the dragon. On the right side of the church is the oratory of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, richly decorated in the eighteenth century, with Carlo Innocenzo Carloni's altarpiece of the Madonna of the Rosary on a stucco altar by Stefano Salterio.
