Why go

San Miro is a medieval church among the houses of Rovasco, in Pognana Lario.

Altered between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries, it retains a Romanesque bell tower probably dating from the eleventh century.

The façade is gabled, and the porch on the left side marks the former entrance. Fragments of frescoes depicting Saint Christopher and other saints survive on the porch wall. Inside are another Saint Christopher and a Virgin and Child. The church changed dedication several times: first to Saints Nazarius and Celsus, then to the Immaculate Conception and finally to Saint Miro. It has been protected since 1914.
