Why go

Part of the park and one guest house remain from Giuditta Pasta's villa on Blevio's shore, demolished in 1904.

The soprano, for whom Bellini wrote the leading role in La sonnambula, bought Villa Roda and had Filippo Ferranti remodel it between 1827 and 1829. The complex comprised the main villa and two guest houses linked by park avenues. After the main residence was demolished, the Wild family commissioned Roccabruna from Carlo Formenti. Part of the park and one guest house can be recognised from the lake; the singer's grave is in Blevio's cemetery.

  • The site of Giuditta Pasta's villa, where Bellini and Donizetti came.
  • From the lake, the park and the surviving guest house; in Blevio's cemetery, the singer's grave.

Getting there

  • It is on the shore at Blevio, on Via Enrico Caronti; it is best approached from the lake, from where the park and the guest house can be made out.
