Why go

Villa Taglioni is a residence on the Blevio shore that belonged to Maria Taglioni (1804–1884), a ballerina of the Romantic era.

The complex includes the main building, with three rows of windows of different shapes and sizes, a large terrace supported by arches and sculptures, and a boathouse with a guest house. In the second half of the nineteenth century Taglioni retired here after a career on European stages, from Paris to Saint Petersburg. The site was already known for sheltering Emperor Joseph II in 1769, when a storm caught him on the lake. The façade can be seen from the lake, near Blevio's church square.
