Why go

Santa Tecla is Torno's parish church, on the small harbour square.

Its façade retains the portal dated 1480, a rose window and a niche with the saint's statue.

The interior has a single nave divided into four bays, with side chapels. The baptistery holds the Man of Sorrows, signed by Bartolomeo de Benzi in 1502. Another chapel preserves a wooden Pietà and mourners, probably from the early sixteenth century. The vault frescoes, including the Glory of Saint Thecla, were painted by Beghi in 1908.

  • The church you see arriving by boat, on the square beside the pier.
  • The wooden statues of the Deposition and the portal of 1480.
