San Nicolò, Lecco's patron saint, is celebrated on 6 December with a solemn mass in the basilica named after him.
Around the feast the Comune organises a week of events and presents the town's civic awards, the San Nicolò d'Oro.
From 29 November to 6 December 2025 the programme includes a concert by the Accademia Corale in the basilica, another by the Filarmonica Giuseppe Verdi, and the opening of the nativity-scene exhibition and of Capolavoro per Lecco at Palazzo delle Paure. On the evening of 6 December the civic awards, the San Nicolò d'Oro, are presented at the Teatro della Società.
