The Casa rurale di Carcente preserves rooms and objects from farming life in a stone house in the upper hamlets of San Siro.
The cowshed, cellar and ca' del föc, the room for drying chestnuts, show how domestic spaces served livestock keeping and subsistence farming. Furniture, working tools and household utensils accompany the route through the rooms. The collections include equipment for grain, butter and cheese, woodworking and wool spinning. The museum is run by the Amici di Carcente association. The hamlet stands on the slopes of Monte Bregagno above the lake.
