Why go

The Santissima Trinità is the neo-Romanesque church on Argegno's lakeside square, near the mouth of the Telo.

Designed by Cesare Nava at Don Epifanio Cattaneo's initiative, it was consecrated on 24 August 1929 by Bishop Adolfo Pagani. Beside the rose window, façade mosaics depict the Evangelists, Saint Abundius and Saint Anne. Inside the single nave, the Trinity mosaic in the apse dates from 1972 and the granite altars from 1973. The tabernacle, altar and ambo are by Gian Luigi Giudici; eight panels and four lamps by the same sculptor were installed in May 1977. The wooden Madonna, seventeenth-century Nativity and Mascioni organ came from the old church. The organ stands on a wooden gallery supported by two granite holy-water stoups.
