Why go

The MUU, Museo del Latte e della Storia della Muggiasca, occupies the former cooperative dairy at Vendrogno, a hamlet of Bellano.

Founded in 2008, it preserves objects from rural life and milk-processing equipment. Its six exhibition rooms are spread over three floors. Four ground-floor rooms retain the dairy's equipment in its original arrangement; the other two house changing displays. Four themed routes explore milk, work in the woods and fields, the home and women's work, and the history of the Muggiasca.

Getting there

  • It is at Vendrogno, part of Bellano, at Via Roma 12. From Bellano take the road for Taceno and, after the bridge over the Pioverna, turn left for Vendrogno.
