Why go

San Martino di Borbino is a medieval church standing alone on the Sentiero del Viandante, at the foot of Monte Borbino in Abbadia Lariana.

Recorded by the thirteenth century, it was remodelled in the fifteenth. Its rectangular nave has exposed timber trusses and is separated from the apse by a pointed arch. The apse has a rib vault whose ribs meet at a round keystone. The tall, narrow windows are medieval. The church belongs to the municipality. From the path there are views of the lake, San Martino, Moregallo and the Corni di Canzo.
