Why go

The Cenghen waterfall, also called the Val Monastero waterfall, is the highest in the Grigne group, with a drop of more than fifty metres.

The water is the Zerbo stream's, rushing down a narrow cleft in the rock and forming a clear, cold pool at the bottom, at about six hundred metres, in the woods below Monte Borbino. You reach it on a short walk up the Val Monastero on mule tracks and easy paths, from Abbadia or from its hamlet of Linzanico. The walk can be done in every season, above all in summer, and joined to a stretch of the Sentiero del Viandante.

  • A waterfall in a rock gorge, a short walk from the lake.
  • It can be combined with a stretch of the Sentiero del Viandante.
