Lanzo d'Intelvi
Lanzo's church with its tall bell tower over the square, Romanesque in origin and rebuilt from 1476: inside, early sixteenth-century Lombard frescoes of the Doctors of the Church, the Last Supper and the Evangelists.
San Siro has Romanesque origins; today's church was begun in 1476, completed during the sixteenth century and reworked in the nineteenth.
Inside, early sixteenth-century frescoes of the Lombard school remain: the first four Doctors of the Church, the Last Supper, the Evangelists and Saints Lawrence and Stephen. There are also some eighteenth-century paintings and an altar by Carlo Antonio Carlone, of the Intelvi family of artists. A few hundred metres away is the sanctuary of the Madonna di Loreto, and further down, at Scaria, the Carloni churches.
