Why go

The sanctuary of the Holy Trinity stands at Pobiano, among meadows and woods above Carate Urio.

In 1932 the industrialist Pietro Amedeo Taroni had the church refurbished over an earlier building. Its single altar retains a fifteenth-century fresco of the Trinity. Inside are wooden statues from Val Gardena depicting Saint Rita of Cascia and Saint Anthony of Padua, alongside two canvases by Carlo Maria Mauri of Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii and Saint Oswald. Mauri also painted the Crucifixion outside. A replica of the Lourdes grotto stands beside the church.

  • A little church among meadows above the lake, a quarter of an hour's walk from Cavadino.
  • The Lourdes grotto and the works of Carlo Maria Mauri.
