Why go

Villa Troubetzkoy is a mid-nineteenth-century villa-chalet on the Blevio shore, recognisable from the lake by its steep roofs.

It was built by the Russian prince Aleksander Vasily Troubetzkoy. The rock excavations and the sound of his surname earned him the nickname “turbascogli”. A Jugendstil lift connects the villa to the Lariana road. In 2009 Pascal Cagni found the property in a neglected state; in the following years he reunited the parts divided among several owners and had it restored. Also known as Villa Pozzi, it bears the name Villa Cagni Troubetzkoy and is private property.

  • A steep-roofed chalet on the lakeshore, with the story of the “turbascogli” prince.
  • It can be picked out from the boat, on the Blevio shore towards Como.
