Why go

Corenno Plinio is a medieval hamlet of Dervio on a rocky headland above the lake.

The Andreani enclosure castle and the church of San Tommaso di Canterbury face the square.

Three Gothic marble tombs commemorate the feudal family: two stand beside the church portal, while the third, dated 1371, adjoins the castle wall. Votive frescoes from the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries survive inside the church. The scalotte, steep stairways cut into the rock, run between the houses down to the small harbour.

  • You can walk all of it in half an hour, through lanes, stairways and glimpses of the lake.
  • The Sentiero del Viandante passes right by.
