Why go

The church of Sant'Antonio, in the centre of Domaso, was built between 1624 and 1646.

It faces Piazza Trento, once called the Friars' square, but you can also enter from Via San Giovanni through a small courtyard.

Inside there is a single rectangular nave, with two side chapels and a square presbytery raised by two steps; along the sides run two corridors that let you walk all the way round the church without crossing the nave, and the sacristy is to the left of the presbytery. Every room has masonry vaults. To the left of the entrance, a trapdoor closed by a stone slab covers an underground ossuary. The pitched roof is laid with Valmalenco stone slabs, and on its left slope, over the presbytery, rises a small bell gable.
