The Sagra del Torchio di Palanzo celebrates the winemaking tradition of this hamlet of Faggeto Lario.

During the festival the monumental press dating from 1572, with its twelve-metre chestnut beam, is put to work. The Associazione Amici del Torchio di Palanzo organises it.

The programme for the 2026 edition

The 51st edition is on Sunday 11 October 2026. Pressing starts at 10:30 and is repeated through the day. At 11:00, booked ahead, a guided walk leaves Piazza Fasola through the village lanes to the church of the Soldo, back past the castle and the old washhouse, reaching the press in time for the pressing. From 11:30 there are Palanzo's tortelli in Piazza Sant'Ambrogio, roast chestnuts in Piazza Beltrame, stalls of crafts and local produce, one cellar for wine and one for craft beer, and songs from the Alpini choir Sandro Marelli of Fino Mornasco. In the former library near Piazza Sant'Ambrogio the Gruppo Micologico Cantù e Como shows mushrooms on Saturday the 10th, 14:00 to 18:00, and on Sunday, 10:00 to 18:00.
