How it works

It is an easy, almost level walk along the western shore of the lake, suitable for families with children, pushchairs included.

From the car park at Musso you go down to the lake and the pier; before setting off, you can take a look at Musso's little harbour, to the left. Then you keep straight on southwards: at Pianello del Lario you pass the town harbour and the Museo della Barca Lariana, and carry on beyond the pier along the lakeside promenade, past the church of San Martino and some campsites. All the way the view is of Monte Legnone and the mountains that ring the Lario, and you pass some beaches. Finally you come to the church of San Vito, which gives its name to the part of Cremia facing the lake. Along the walk there are bars and restaurants for a stop.

  1. Three kilometres, two metres of climb, fifty minutes, on gravel track and porphyry paving: an easy route for any season.
  2. Musso is reached by the C110 Como–Menaggio–Colico bus, Piazza Medicea stop, and in summer by boat; by car you leave the Regina before the Dongo tunnel following the signs for Musso and Pianello and park in the village.
  3. You come back along the same shore; in summer, halfway, there is Pianello's pier.
